Wow, has it really been 2 years? It bloody has as well.

I should probably do something about that.Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-49060397898091042412017-03-08T09:00:00.000+00:002017-03-08T09:00:06.289+00:00[Alien Hunter X] Planned ClassesSo, after having a sit down and fleshing things out a bit more, I've ended up with a large selection of classes. Ultimately, not every team will end up with access to every class (And honestly, i'm considering making a chunk of them 'Choose one or the Other') and I suspect many teams will end up with multiples of the same classes on Missions...

"The Soldier"

A trained military agent, skilled with most weapons and trained in modern warfare tactics. They specialise in improving their own equipment to get the most out of it every mission. They like to keep things by the books - Minimising loss of life and ensuring the safety of civilians.

"The Insurgent"

A human freedom fighter, someone who has lost because of the Invasion and refuses to go quietly into the night. Due to their lack of military training and often their lack of effective small arms, Insurgents have learned how to best ambush the aliens. They're dangerous mavericks who often cause a lot of collateral, especially when alien troop composition calls for something with a little more 'Bang' to take down...

"The Field Researcher"

As much as the Organisation would like to keep their eggheads safely behind walls away from where valuable intelligence can be shot, chewed or mangled, sometimes a researcher needs to head into the field to test new equipment or to gather valuable data that would never survive the journey back to the lab. Field Researchers are less hardy than actual soldiers, but should they manage to make a discovery and get it back to the lab in one piece, the Organisation will benefit greatly.

"The Scientist"

The Scientist isn't exactly fit for combat. However, the Scientist is a genius civilian agent, one who doesn't take leaps of logic so much as boards the express logic flight to its final destination. Whilst wholly unsuited in a firefight, the Scientist excels at gathering information on the Invaders that can be put to good use by inventing dangerous new toys...

"The Technician"

The Technician is a technically minded military agent, one who has been trained to do his often mission critical non combat role under enemy fire. Capable of on-site equipment repairs as well as advanced entrenchment techniques, the Technician is a skilled engineer.

"The Mechanic"

The Mechanic probably misses the days spent in his garage, fixing his (human designed and constructed) personal vehicle. A specialist in vehicles of many kinds, the mechanic knows how to get the most out of a car or a truck, wether that be driving down Invaders on the city streets or rigging that bizzare alien motorbike to drive into the side of a building and detonate.

"The Field Medic"

The Field Medic's skills fall somewhere between soldier and doctor, an agent that has been trained to avoid enemy fire in order to patch up his fallen squadmates. More so than just being a walking first aid kit however, the Field Medic is also a capable combatant and is more than able to provide an area of safety for his injured team-mates.

"The Paramedic"

A civilian Paramedic might not seem like the ideal candidate to have on your squad, but sometimes you don't really get much choice. The Paramedic is fast, able to quickly identify injuries and problems on the field as well as bolt across open ground in order to get behind that cover that his friend just went down behind as bolts of sun-hot plasma fly past him.

"The Armed Civilians"

Armed Civilians are less of a single, solitary civilian fighter and more of a mob of angry people who have been given guns by the Organisation in order to help protect themselves against the Invaders. Whilst they might not have skill on their side, they have numbers by the shoveful, often having more members than the squad they are fighting beside. Theres allways one Civilian who leads the group, but its his friends that make it.

"The Infiltrator"

The Infiltrator is an expert at tactical espionage action, able to take down Invaders with CQC in almost absolute silence as well as sneaking into areas others would be spotted heading into in order to gain valuable intel, steal resources and data or just to kill a specific individual. All in all, theyre "Pretty Good"

And of course, where would X-com be without its Psionic Troopers, hulking Cybernauts and Gene-Spliced Agents of destruction?

I'll talk a little about those guys next update...Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-56003938476174916292017-03-03T09:00:00.000+00:002017-03-03T09:00:36.865+00:00Super Sexy Sugoi Shining Princess PrismYep, don't mind me, just more doodles...
This time, its of the Maid of Wynn's Changeling character.

Or at least, what she looks like inside of someone's dreams.

Yes, she is totally a magical girl when inside a dream. She has her own themetune and everything.

But I would play it.

This is actually one of my favourite drawings, where I decided I was going to try and work out how to do semi-realism in my normal style.

... I mean, its clear that realism isn't my thing, but I still love how it came out.

This illithid has no arms! Like a Glukkon from Abes Oddesy!

In case you want to use it in your game of Dungeon World, heres a (somewhat tongue in cheek) statblock for him:
(Stats provided for Dungeon World)
When does this Scene take place?: The Party is travelling by ship either at the start or near the end of an adventure.

Who are the Antagonists?: A Great White Selachii (Shark Man) and a shoal of his Remoran servants.

Why should the Party Care?: Because they are about to be Boarded.

The Party are travelling on a ship to (or from) adventure when off in the distance they spot another ship... and fire in the sky. The player ships crew (There should be enough to sail a ship, but not enough that they can suffer losses and safely continue their journey) attempt to signal the other ship.

Players attempting to Discern Reality at this point might notice a few silvery glimmers fall off of the ship into the water with small splashes and no crew on the other. Players who ask 'What is about to happen' might suspect some sort of ambush ahead.

Wether the players attempt to avoid the ship or get close to it, the only warning of what is about to happen is a crewmember (or party member) spotting silvery shapes moving below the waves...

Followed by the ship hitting something.

That something is a Great White Selachii. Unlucky for the players, it's still hungry.

There will be enough Remorans to keep the entire crew busy in the background, the only number that's important are the ones fighting the players. You wont need many because the Selachii is going to be a significant danger for the players - use the Remorans to make hard moves against players who fail rolls.

The Deep Lungs quality is to represent that the Beast-Men are having to essentially hold their breath to fight the players, and whilst they can stay above water for a good 5 minutes before needing a quick dunk to refresh, they can't stay out indefinitely without beginning to suffocate.

Play up on some of the tropes of sharks when describing the Selachii's actions - have him charge towards a player with his eyes rolled back into his skull and if the players dodge, have him go straight through the guard rail in an explosion of splinters and into the water. If a player gets seriously injured and someone fails a roll, have the Selachii go into a horrific blood frenzy where it loses its caution and is only interested in killing.

Don't be afraid to have him bulldoze someone into the water and attempt to drown them.

All whilst this is happening, describe how in the background the Remorans are Injuring/Killing the crew and, in turn are being injured and killed. When all the Remorans fighting the players die, have the ones in the background driven off victoriously by the crew.

When the Selachii dies, have the Remorans attempt to abandon ship quickly, dragging corpses with them.

And then, when everything has gone quiet and the characters have had a chance to catch their breath, point out that the ship is about to run aground on a tropical island or in known but dangerous territory.
Who knows. They might even find out why the Selachii have suddenly started attacking ships.<strike></strike>Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-33664105532862283882017-02-17T11:31:00.000+00:002017-02-17T11:31:15.826+00:00Does Sir David Bowie have only one suit of funky Platemail...... Or does he have a couple of Ch-ch-ch-changes?

A few things will be changing about the blog over the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed i'll be able to keep it up.

Firstly: I'm going to try to be posting more art. Cheifly stuff I have drawn, but also more stuff that's indicative of what i'm talking about to help set the mood.

Much of the Art that isn't mine isn't likely to have a name attached to it unless the artist has put it on the artwork there...

(This one totally is mine, though)

Secondly: Little things that people can snag for various games, like random encounters, story seeds to spark things off and NPC statblocks and descriptions that can be used for various games.

Y'know... actual content.

Thirdly: Reviews, Session Notes, ETC.

Finally: More craft stuff. Whilst we're in the process of getting ready to move, we've not been doing a lot but I have plans.
The Insurgent has an entirely different play style to the Soldier, whilst retaining a fairly similar front-line fighter feel to it. Instead of military expertise, the Insurgent fights with cunning and the occasional vicious ambush.
Thought I might share today's project, a Military Badge for a fictional military group, the Constantinus Military College. I'm currently waiting for a quote from an badge embroidering group about how much it'll cost me to have a limited run produced.

I'm honestly fairly chuffed about the design, its a solid, distinct and borderline professional looking piece!

I'm still alive.

My previous post **Coughsixmonthago** had a preview of the Soldier sheet!

After getting back into wanting to get this done, I finished off the sheet to a level that's ready to be play tested.
Tonight, i'm going to see about grabbing a bunch of people for some IRC gaming to playtest the current pile of nonsense I have in front of me.

I also tidied up some of the other stuff I've done, which you can find at the following links...
I... I think that without any long term plans for the moment that's all a player needs for the game, since it is a cribbing of the Powered by the Apocalypse system.
Unlike most Powered by the Apocalypse games, theres no planned limitations on how many people can play any particular class. One thing that has always stuck in my mind when I've been thinking about AHX: I want a way to replicate the mission select options from the newer X-com games.

For those of you who havn't played, it roughly boils down to the following concepts:

Alien Abductions - Where the aliens are attempting to kidnap people and you have to kill/capture them
Terror Missions - Where the aliens are causing widespread destruction and mayhem in a small town in order to prove how useless the organization is at stopping them (to try and cut funding).
Landed UFO - Where the aliens are conducting some sort of mission of their own and the Organisation has snuck up on them.
Crashed UFO - Where the aliens were going to conduct some sort of mission of their own and The Organisation snuck up on them with high yield rockets fired from fighter craft.
Base Assault - The Organisation raids an Alien Base.
Base Defence - The Organisation's base is raided!
Target Escort/Extraction - An invididual of high importance needs to be Transported/Collected for The Organisation's purposes.
Asset Recovery - An object/supplies important to The Organisation need to be recovered.
Bomb Disposal - The aliens have planted a bomb in a built up settlement - you must disable it.
Covert Mission - A covert operative has infiltrated an opposing organisation and must now be extracted

So, in light of this - At the beginning of the game session, the players should work together to answer the following:

The Organisation have discovered alien activity... (Choose One)
The Invaders have landed troops in a town and are abducting them for unknown purposes
The Invaders have landed troops in a capital city and are wreaking bloody havoc
The Invaders have landed a ship for an unknown purpose - We should capitalise on the opportunity
Our fighters have splashed an enemy ship - We should capitalise on the opportunity
We've discovered an Invader stronghold - We cannot allow it to grow unimpeded
A high profile civilian is believed to be in danger and we need to make sure they don't get attacked
An important civilian is in hiding during an Invader attack - We must extract them immediately.
Civilians have reported strange sightings in their local area. We should investigate.

The operation takes place in...
The local civilian response to The Organisation is...
The Operations name is...

Once The Squad has decided on which troops they are taking and which equipment, the Alien Commander should answer the following:

But when they got there, there was an unexpected complication... (Choose One)
A new type of Invader was present and it was incredibly dangerous
A new type of Invader was present and it was capable of hiding itself
A new type of Invader was present and it had a strange power
The Invaders had planted a bomb at the mission site and it was soon to go off
The Invaders were merely feinting and had an entirely different reason for their activity

So for example, the players might choose:
The Organisation has discovered alien activity... The Invaders have landed a ship for an unknown purpose - We should capitalise on the opportunity
The Operation takes place in London
The local response to The Organisation is Desperate
The Operation's name is Merciful Pelican

So yeah!

Lethality
In dungeon world, you get assigned a number of Hitpoints based on your class and your constitution - just like from any of the Dungeons and Dragons games or works inspired by them. X-com has allways been noted for how easily the soldiers you control die and i'm keen to make sure that's something that sticks around but making the game more suitable for roleplay.

I decided to go with something more akin to World of Darkness.

Wounds are graded from 'Light' to 'Mortal'. Each of these grades has a number of boxes beside them.
When you take one of those wounds, you fill boxes until you have filled a box in the appropriate grade. If you cant fill a box, you move onto the next most serious grade and mark a box.
When you've taken a mortal wound, roll to Cheat Death.

So an uninjured soldier would look like this...

Light Wound [ ] [ ]
Medium Wound [ ] [ ]
Heavy Wound [ ]
Mortal Wound [ ]

But a soldier who had taken a single Medium Wound, followed by a Heavy Wound would look like this...

Light Wound [X] [X]
Medium Wound [X] [X]
Heavy Wound [X]
Mortal Wound [ ]

If the same soldier had taken a Heavy Wound, followed by a Medium wound, however...

Light Wound [X] [X]
Medium Wound [X] [X]
Heavy Wound [X]
Mortal Wound [X]

He's going to have a bad time.
The reason I went with this is to represent that a Light wound means nothing if you then get a hole put in your chest, but if you start with a hole in your chest, even a light wound can push you over the edge.

Different classes will get different numbers of check boxes. Levelled up troops may gain additional checkboxes.

Armour gives one-use health boxes, up to the threshold of damage they can survive. Someone in a Tactical Vest may gain a single Light Wound box, which does nothing against a Plasma Cannon handing out Heavy Wounds, whereas a suit of Power Armour may offer 5 boxes of protection against anything as powerful as that Plasma Cannon.Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-20087187103244370742016-07-27T09:30:00.000+01:002016-07-27T09:30:26.857+01:00Are we sick of RPG ideas yet?"Music is Power"

Hey, at least this one actually has a dice mechanic I thought of that went with it... as far as my ideas go, this one is actually pretty far along by comparison.

Psionic energy exists in all things. Extreme situations can put so much stress on a person's mind that they tap into the rhythm of the universe. It starts as a tapping, then other sounds in the world begin to add to it, building up into a spike of psionic energy that permenantly awakens the person's psionic potential. The awakening event is called a 'Crescendo'.

Each character has a Style and a Genre.

Style dictates what psychic abilities you have acess to. A character who'se Style is Percussion focuses mostly on physical improvement, where a Vocalist's abilities are based around controlling the thoughts and actions of other people.

Genre changes how base abilities work. A Punk is going to have faster and harder attacks or his abilities will work faster than someone elses whilst a Classicist is going to be slower but have a much more powerful final effect, for example.

Dice System is... fairly simple?

You get a number of dice based on your skill level and a target number to roll on each dice - say, 3. You roll all your dice and the more of that specific number you roll, the better you do... However, you can also decide to use a different number on the dice instead of the target number for your sucsesses, with a small 'per step' penalty.

For example, you roll 7 dice and have a target number of 4.

You roll: 4,3,3,2,2,2,2

You could chose the 4, which would be a marginal sucsess.
If you instead decided to take a 1 step penalty and chose the 3, you would lose 1 success but still have another, giving you a marginal sucsess.
If you took a 2 step penalty you could chose the 2's instead, granting you a minor sucsess instead of a marginal.

That's pretty much all I've had idea wise. I wanted to have some sort of mechanic that would let people in a group/band use abilities that gave each other bonuses, like a band playing together for a bigger effect.

If you aren't familiar with the Apocalypse/Dungeon World style of dice rolling, I'll sum it up for you:

Roll 2d6+An Attribute
10+ Succsess
7-9 Sucsess, But...
1-6 Failure

Basic Moves are available to all Classes, but some Classes may change how those moves work or have a 'Better' Version...

Short, mission based 'Whoever is available' gaming where Aliens are invading earth and its up to a small non-copyright infringing anti-alien military group to fend them off. Fairly high PC turnover because the aliens either have more high tech gear or are genetically superior to humanity.

Mission Failure/Partial/Sucsess grants bonuses on post game research rolls, which add 'Prestige Classes' like Cybernetics (BELLATOR IN MACHINA MOTHERFUCKER) or DNA Manipulation, better equipment and advanced tactics to the basic character classes.

The nature of the aliens would be a 'Discover during play' style dealie with the players basically choosing their own enemies and the ST working out research projects for each alien type.

Since each mission would be a single session, it doesn't matter who turns up to the game, but previous players who's characters havn't died get to use their previous character sheets alongside green rookies. Just like X-Com

Dungeon World crossed with X-Com, basically.

Human emotion has faded because the world's government has decided that a docile population is a safe and prosperous population.

There aren't' colours anymore and everything is a shade of grey, drugs hidden in people's food stifle creativity and strong emotional response. Music is Dead and Books and TV exist only to inform.

But a rebel group exists who have worked out a way to bring colour back into the world with paint that counter-acts the drugs in people's systems - Specific emotions keyed into specific colours that physical contact or prolongued nearby exposure to causes the chemicals supressing those emotions to be eliminated from the body.

Heavy themes of Liberty, Disregard for Authority and Beneficial Rebellion.

Somewhere between very, very dark but relatively non violent. For the most part, combat would focus on... well, paint. The police have high quality gear and grey paint that basically acts like riot foam whilst the players have acsess to a ton of colours.

Jet Set Radio crossed with 1984 I guess, with some Splatoon thrown in there for good measure

Sadly, the alien disease that had survived the depths of space on that asteroid survived the atmospheric entry.

The disease was Psionic in nature, chewing up one specific emotion and leaving the others completely untouched.

Fear.

A world without fear is a dangerous world. There were no longer any voices in the back of people's mind that would warn them that it might hurt if they threw themselves out of a window. Nothing to say 'You cant fly a plane' or 'You shouldn't build bombs to prove a point'.

Some people survived the disease, though. As the disease attempted to consume their fear, their minds reacted violently to combat the disease immediately - their smallest fears suddenly bloated and exaggerated in their psionic awakening.

As their minds changed, so too were their bodies now capable of changing. They could allow the fears that plagued them constantly to consume THEM, letting their own personal demons out of their minds and into their bodies, shifting flesh and making them creatures of fear made manifest.

Bogeymen.

Now, the Bogeymen are humanity's white blood cells - being near a bogeyman... even one who looks like a human... allows humans to feel fear again as the presence of the Bogeyman fights the disease in their minds. The majority of this fear is aimed at the Bogeymen themselves, but its a small price to pay until someone can work out how to eradicate the disease once and for all.

... So yeah. My head can be a weird place sometimes. *Finger Guns*

Basically were-fears fight against alien disease that can probably make its own twisted versions of the Bogeymen that are exemplars of other emotions.
"... Did you know its been two years since my last blog post?" I ask her, baffled at how long its actually been.
"Well, that's because you're rubbish" She points out.

Love is kinda like that, I guess. Harsh and delivered whilst the other person is distracted.

On the plus side, she DOES have the right amount of Soy Sauce. Apparantly this is actually a thing.

Now she's spitefully licking an awful lolly she managed to nick from work, because she's reading over my shoulder now she's noticed i'm actually writing...

-----

This is me, once again attempting to get this pile of oddly shaped dice up off of the floor and back into the box.

So, heres a list of what I have (And havn't!) been doing since I last made a post...

Lords of Gossamer and Shadow failed as a campaign. Which was super disappointing. I still hope to one day have a game of it on the go, but I think people have been a little burned on it and are doing other things with their nights now.

Dungeon World was discovered as an RPG which I instantly fell in love with. I seriously adore this game greatly. I'll do another post about that in the future though.

XCOM hasn't really advanced at all as a project. Remember how my previous post to this one two years ago said 'I have a new job now! and opportunity to wargame!'? Yeah, I still have the job but the wargaming is still sparse. I really should get painting again, though...

Victory by Any Means is an interesting little 4x game that I discovered looking for similar titles. I've been looking at the rulebook for ages but have only recently been able to actually give it a go. Its pretty maths intensive, but once you know what you're actually doing it almost opens up...

The Isles of Darkness is still about and i'm still playing the games! A lot of them have had me thinking recently what players can do to improve their own games as well as the games of others, so I might do a few posts about that...

RPG Design. I'm sure every roleplayer thinks about making their own game - I bet some of them even managed it. I've come up with either hacks for other people's games or entirely new ideas without any sort of mechanics behind them or actual effort behind designing them. Maybe i'll have a go at that for real...

At any rate, that's the current state of the Fort.

Better bust out the mortar and repair some of these walls...

Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-5523747732842825222014-06-27T16:36:00.001+01:002014-06-27T16:36:17.205+01:00I Aintn't Ded: Some X-Com StuffSo yeah. Everything has kind of been up in arms for the last few months. Dead sorry about that, i'll make sure it doesn't happen too often in the future.

On the plus side, New Job with Better Pay (tm) and hours that mean I can actually wargame now.

Hurrah!

Here's what i've been working on recently:

U-Sen

Toying with U-Sen as a name rather than X-Com. Uchujin (Outer Space-Man) Sento (Combat)... I suspect it might be right, but if not please let me know!

A Muton Leader!

He is... really, really dark skinned. I think he turned out well in a super alien-ish kind of way but i'm not used to painting things quite so dark!

All models are Ground Zero Games!

Sorry to say but there won't be a Fort Friday post with any actual content in it this week - i've just been super busy with things!

Lords of Gossamer and Shadow has picked up. We're now on a solid nine players which is pretty damn impressive for an IRC game with only one ST. Several story threads are being chased which is cool and exciting in equal parts as hopefully people will be able to find out hidden bits about secret backstory and stuff.

I've started running Dungeon World. Which is perhaps the most fun i've ever had at character creation ever.
I'm really gutted we didn't think to record the first session... but on the other hand, it would have been two hours of us pissing ourselves laughing...

Modelling and Painting has taken a bit of a backseat, sadly. I should get back on that! Slaine and Ukko are almost finished now!

I was dead chuffed to find someone link to one of my blog posts on RPG.Net as well. Ok, it was just the pictures but thats KIND of like fame!

So yeah, thats the State of the Nation.

Lord of Wynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12617651392636875357noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4479586332697426727.post-54908602195557975092014-03-05T08:00:00.000+00:002014-03-05T08:00:00.912+00:00Lords of Gossamer & Shadow: Session One

Session One: The Agora

Characters Involved

Ursula Axilla: The PI
Ginger Syn: The Dimension-Hopping Good Time Gal
Tezoac: The Educated Wildman
Kitt: The Meddling Youth
Weaver: The Scout
Rui Shi: The Demon Hunter
The Revenant: A Shambling Corpse-Soldier

The session begins with all the characters in The Agora - a Marketplace on the grand stair where the merchants of countless worlds come to ply their trades.

Tezoac is browsing through the stalls and several traders attempt to convince him that their wares are the ones that he wants. Ursula on the other hand had set up a deck chair outside of the door that leads to her own personal world 'The Office', pretending to sleep so that she can catch her shady chess-by-mail partner dropping off his next turn. Kitt had set up his small 'information and magic' stall somewhere and Rui Shi had been aimed towards it to find out some information about the Demon he had been chasing.

Ginger was browsing for some warmer clothes now that she had gotten back from Ganan (She was, for the most part, entirely done with the whole 'Warrior Princess' thing.). Weaver had likewise been browsing through the stall for items of interest!

The Revenant, on the other hand, was hunting.

It had followed a group of organics from its battlefeild to here and having now way to return to the theatre of operations had decided to instead continue investigating the group that had led her out. Wishing to stop one of the organics from escaping, it grabbed one of their arms (the others had spread throughout the market). With an agressive shout, the person tried to pull away and when it realised that it couldn't escaped, Howled as its skin began to rip and its bones re-align and snap violently, claws bursting from its fingertips.

A werewolf!

The Revenant had been in Close Quarters Combat situations with similar, less organic soldiers before and decided to slam the creature's head as hard as it could into the floor as a solution to the attempt it made to attack the corpse-soldier. With the sound of marble floor cracking, it seemed like that werewolf gave up on life.

However, all around the market a riot had begun as fights had broken out with that single howl. Even worse, from apparantly no-where a giant Bull-creature had appeared and in the panic, several of the older market-goers shouted that 'The Minotaur' was here. It did not help the riot situation at all.

Ursula, now given up on pretending to be asleep as soon as a riot had broken out underneath her, opens the door to her office and shouts for the wardens to get inside where its safe.

Tezoac, a master of the Umbra notices a little ball of Umbral energy inside the Minotaur and decides to weaken whatever force was attempting to keep it under control, allowing the Umbra to start attacking the minotaur directly.

Two of the others who had been with the werewolf start running towards The Revenant in order to gain vengance, Weaver levelling her utility-pad at one of them and loosing a paralysing cantrip at the creature which suddenly stopped being able to move or stop its own momentum, sending it crashing to the ground where Ursula added an extra hole straight through its head with her energy pistol.

The Revenant slams a trench knife into the back of the werewolf in her hand's neck, severing the spinal coloumn and drops him on the ground so she's free to handle the werewolf who is still charging at her, its skin shredding and turning into a man-wolf beast.

Kitt, on the other hand, had decided that discretion was the greater part of valor and had been packing away his market stall and running for Ursula's office, Rui Shi trailing behind him blithely ignoring the market in uproar as he tries to get some answers from the young wizard.

Weaver, working out that this 'Minotaur' is the focal point for all of this chaos and panic assumes that it is some sort of Glitch/Umbra aligned creature and throws a 'Negation' cantrip towards it from her bracer, which sadly bounces off of it.

Tezoac, a plan in mind, starts walking towards the Minotaur, shapeshifting in front of it in an attempt to get its attention and swelling his own size in preparation to attack it, using the Umbra to shift his own body into one better suited for what he had in mind.

Revenant grapples the werewolf charging towards her and opens up its throat with her trench dagger after grabbing it by the shoulder whilst Weaver tosses a 'Pain' cantrip at the Minotaur with a mind to get it in the testicles. Ginger opens up with Bugsy into the Minotaur and sending out sprays of blood and bone where she hits, the maniacal robot brain inside the gun cackling madly as she does so. Tezoac punches the Minotaur in the face so hard he dislocates its jaw, sending its head jolting to the side with the immense impact.

The Minotaur decides that all of this pain he's in is because of the thing who just smacked him in the face.

Kitt starts to cast a spell from the door to Ursula's Office, pulling out his silver rapier Argentus he had claimed from a world over-run with werewolves he'd adventured in before.

Weaver and Rui Shi have retreated into Ursula's office at this point, Ursula is still holding the door open.

The Minotaur starts chasing Tezoac, who shifts into a more nimble running form to keep his distance from the Minotaur. It barrels through some people and sends them flying, Ginger using her machinegun to keep its attention away from hapless innocents.

Tezoac leads the Minotaur up a stairway in an attempt to trick it into following him off a balcony, Kitt is still spellcasting. Revenant fails to notice that the corpses around her have started healing their fatal wounds and finishes off the one she had cut the throat off and was still holding by slamming him into the floor a few times. It notices one of the corpses is missing.

Tezoac spins around at the edge of a balcony, facing the Minotaur. Kitt says ancient words of power that sound remarkably like 'Beam me up, Scotty'. The Minotaur bellows, its now broken jaw splitting into two when it does so as the umbra begins to unravel its form. Revenant notices the corpse she previously made is now alive and crawling back to its feet.

The minotaur charges at Tezoac and... passes straight through him. It was an Illusion! A very confused Tez now stands next to Kitt, who slumps over exhausted. The Minotaur gets some sweet, sweet air before gravity kicks in and theres a series of nasty cracking noises as it hits the floor. Ginger kicks the corpse of the minotaur in the head.

Revenant decides that rather then let another one get back up, she's going to hack off the one she's just chokeslammed's head. The one allready standing takes that as his cue to bolt for safety, turning into a rat-man as it does and scrabbling away

Tezoac heads over to investigate the Minotaur's body and He and Ginger notice that its still trying to heal its injuries. Kitt shouts a warning to Revenant about the previously hole-in-the-head werebeast's getting back up and she proceedes to turn it into mush. Tezoac gestures at the Minotaur's head, which begins to implode and dissolve.

Kitt tosses his Silver Rapier to the Revenant, who, not really understanding why a sword is being thrown at it grabs it by the blade. It doesnt seem overly bothered by the fact it has a sword cutting into it.

The Minotaur still seems to be trying to regenerate its wounds (A minotaur that regenerates? Madness) and now, fleshy tendrils of meat are slapping around the ground because the Umbra is working just as hard to mess it up as it is trying to heal its wounds.

Kitt shouts that the Revenant should 'Stab it with the sword' - The revenant is suddenly a blur of motion and slams its trench knife into the shoulder of the were-rat pinning it to the wall, followed shortly by slamming the silver sword through its heart, which seems to almost catch fire and burn the flesh of it while it does so.

People retire to ursula's office to make sense of what happened and relax!

End session!

You should totally take a look at it - especially because he's got a competition running at the minute!

The basic plastercine moulds. These are recreations because the old ones got squished...

Lookit those bubbles

This was a major dissapointment for me. I tried really, really hard to minimise how many bubbles would appear on these moulds and they have massive ones. You might notice on the plastercine picture above how those bubbles end up coming out on the models before smoothing. Bah! nevermind, they don't need to be perfect.

Woot!

On the other hand, after the bubbles have been smoothed down and the air dough has dried, the things look pretty damn swish. Painted up, inked and with some very simple drybrushing they look pretty good IMO. Housemate did point out they were a little dark for a river so i might give it another whack with a lighter paint later on and see how it works, but i'm pretty happy.

I went with a straight line and a bendy line so that people can have bespoke rivers!
